Memory Care in Petaluma, CA

No matter what stage of memory loss our residents are experiencing, we believe they deserve the utmost love and respect in a safe and secure community. With the dedicated and caring staff at Adobe House, that is exactly what they will receive. At Adobe House, each resident can expect:

  • A secure community, designed specifically for residents with memory loss
  • Cozy and inviting interior spaces
  • Lovely outdoor spaces
  • 24-hour care from professional nurses and compassionate caregivers
  • Delicious and nutritious restaurant-quality dining
  • Therapeutic tools and practices tailored to fit each resident's needs
  • An enriching activities program with many opportunities for fun and enjoyment
  • Most importantly, a sense of respect, compassion, and dignity

When a resident first moves into our community, an assessment is conducted to ensure that the resident's family, the resident's physician(s), and our team are all in agreement regarding the resident's care. We then incorporate the use of memory care-specific tools and therapy practices into our daily care, tailored to fit the exact needs of each resident.

We use Validation Therapy, a practice aimed at validating our residents' feelings and concerns, respecting that their version of reality is different than ours, and maintaining their sense of dignity and self-confidence. Our 6 Pillar Life Enrichment program, based on the principles of Validation Therapy, is designed to fulfill each person's core needs, including: Spiritual, Physical, Social, Emotional, Intellectual, and Purposeful needs. Our program is designed to address all of these needs in an individual way, dependent upon the stage of memory loss each resident is experiencing.

Because we focus solely on memory loss, dementia, and Alzheimer's, our caregivers have extensive experience in dealing with a wide range of behaviors associated with memory loss. We are equipped to help our residents deal with frustrating and often frightening feelings with love and understanding. Our patient and talented staff members are successful in building trust and fostering cooperative relationships with our residents, no matter what circumstances arise.

Here at Adobe House, our residents' family members become an extended family of our own. Organized by family members, our peer-to-peer support group provides a forum for family members to share experiences and feelings involved during this process. There are also regular visits from physicians and other guest speakers who offer educational and comforting coping skills for families.
