Memory Care Community Amenities

Adobe House is specifically designed for residents with memory loss. Our wider than average hallways, which have handrails throughout, encircle the courtyard. Windows all the way around the building ensure that residents can enjoy their freedom while being seen at all times. Accessible through all sides of the building, our courtyard is beautifully manicured and provides a walking trail with benches for a periodic rest stop or an opportunity to socialize.

The spacious arrangement inside and the ample opportunities to get fresh air and exercise are a tremendous benefit to our residents. Behaviors and agitation associated with Alzheimer's, dementia and other types of memory loss may be avoided if a person has ample space, natural sunlight, and a chance to move around independently.

Warm sunlight flows throughout the building, spilling into the four alcoves provided for family gatherings and other activities. And for our animal and nature lovers, there is a massive aviary, which is home to our pair of cockatiels.

The resident apartments are located on the outside parameter of the community, each with modified opening windows (windows open six inches), ample closet space and private bathrooms. Bathrooms are equipped with handrails and are wheelchair accessible.

In addition to all the physical attributes that make Adobe House so comforting, we also provide services that take away the stress of mundane chores. Housekeeping tasks are all provided by our staff, which includes daily laundry, changing of bedding, vacuuming and trash removal. Gourmet-quality dining services are also provided, with three delicious meals and additional snacks served each day.

Our activities director provides a monthly calendar with activities designed to stimulate spiritual, physical, mental and social wellness. Our 6 pillars of care serve as a platform for our Life Enrichment Program at Adobe House. These activities can vary, but may include the following:

  • Weekly visits from Father Tom for Holy Communion
